Mulleyville November 2009 Newsletter

It’s getting colder and snowed at Tinney’s last night, are you ready? Five weeks until the trails will hopefully open on December 14th , snow permitting. We had a lot going on this fall and hope to see you on the trails and at a meeting. Please regularly check our website for the latest News and Conditions all winter long.

Mulleyville 100 Club
Please consider joining the newly formed Mulleyville 100 Club. For a $100 entry ticket you buy entry into 5 separate drawings for $1000. Only 100 tickets will be sold so the odds of winning are very high. The proceeds for the club will go towards building our new groomer barn. To join the 100 Club visit and click the Paypal button to use Paypal or Credit Card, or you can contact any of the Board of Directors as listed on the Meet the Team page. There is no requirement to be a member of the club so if you have friends that like raffles the odds here are tremendous. Drawings will be held at our monthly meetings starting in December. Don’t delay, tickets are going fast.

Ski Doo Millions Club Support
Ski-Doo is running a promotion right now to give money back directly to snowmobile clubs across North America. For every club member that stops in at a Ski-Doo dealership between 9/1/09 and 11/15/09 and drops off the completed form below, BRP will give to our club $10, up to a total of $1500 (free money). If you haven’t been into a Ski Doo Dealer and filled out a form, send an email to Ken Passaretti at and we can fill out a form for you and bring it in before the deadline. We haven’t reached our 150 member goal yet and any one agreeing to let us fill out a form for them will help a lot. Also if you have done one on your own let us know! Time is running out.

Register and Join Early
Please consider joining the club early and sending in your NYS registration now. It helps the club budget for the winter and NY Parks and Recreation uses a December 1st cutoff date to determine the trail funding amounts for the year based on registrations received by then. It helps the system out for everyone to be joined and registered before the end of November. You’re going to do it anyway, why not get it done before those Christmas bills come. It’s easier than ever to join online. Just follow this link to the NYSSA page. It takes less than 5 minutes to join and print your voucher.

Club Land Purchase
As many of you know by now the club purchased 13 acres of land on our trail system this summer. We did this to build a groomer barn in a location that was centrally located to our trails and to get our groomers out of the weather. The exposure tears up the equipment and our reduced maintenance costs and improved uptime will soon pay for the barn. This will be a 3-5 year project as the lot is heavily wooded and will need to be logged first. We expect to spend the next year and a half fundraising and start construction in the summer of 2011. If you have skills or materials you’d like to donate we can use every bit of help. Specifics are excavation, concrete work, insulation (preferably spray foam), electrical (off grid application – solar, generator, battery), HVAC (radiant slab), and general construction. Of course monetary donations will help a ton too.

The barn will be an administrative use only facility and there will be no parking or general access to the land. This is because it is at the end of a private road that can not safely support additional traffic of the club. We are also working with DEC to have a large parking lot built off of Fox Hill Road or another location. We continue to look at ways to improve our parking situation and are open to any suggestions
