First…We know it has been cold. But…WOW do awesome trails make you forget all about it, get out and ride while you can. A group of us were meeting up on Lake desolation for a night ride. I got out early (3:30pm) and started my ride at the Villiage Pizzeria. Since I had until 6:30 to meet up with the group, I went riding. Did about 40 miles before heading back to Lake Desolation. Eventually I rode the whole system and was rewarded with trails that are in Good to EXCELLENT condition. We did sneak on Sacandaga trails and went through 1000 acre swamp (BTW, that trail hadn’t been groomed since Monday and had 10-12″ of freshness, sweet!). Lastly, as I was heading back to the truck…Galway had just groomed the trail behind Tinney’s, a fine way to end the ride.
For the grooming team, they had the ’97 Tucker out working on trails that our ’96 didn’t get to because of a breakdown. Also, ran into some of the groomer team out riding on the magical trails they maintain…Tinney’s will be ready to serve you all weekend and we have the BONFIRE Saturday night! Get out and ride, we will see you on the trails!
